These plants add another level of dimension to your space and make it look connected to nature. Besides the aesthetic benefits, Indoor plants have much more physiological benefits to offer. They purify the air, reduce the stress level, boost productivity and sharpen your attention. In fact the list goes on and on.

Now the important question here is: How to add that aesthetic effect to your home using plants? Which plant should be chosen and where exactly it should be put up to create a beautiful room for nature in the home? An important consideration here is some plants look more beautiful and add more value to the space if placed at the right spot. People always feel that plants can just be kept in pots and there is no other way which is definitely not the case. Have a look at the various ways in which you can place plants inside your home and the suitable plants for each type:

1. Floor plant containers: These are the best for living rooms and bedrooms where plants with large decorative foliage can add a lot of value. These are available in various designs and materials such as ceramic, metal, terracotta, wood etc. The plants best suited for these types of containers are money plant, chinese evergreen plant, snake plant, monstera plant, fiddle fig plant, various varieties of palms etc.

2. Table Top Planters: There are a lot of creative products which are now being used as a table top planting accessories. Some examples include small decorative pots, jute baskets, fish bowls, cement molded containers, glass jars and terrariums, customized wooden containers and what not. However the choice of plants for this type should be made very carefully as there is lack of growing space. Ideal table top plants include various varieties of ferns, dwarf palms, succulents such as cacti, crassula, dracaena, peace lily, moss etc.

3. Suspended plants: When you are a great plant lover but there are space constraints in your home, suspended plants are the best solution. These plants are simply hung from the ceiling, brackets or from the window tops using nylon ropes, beaded hangers etc. For this type, the container becomes important as it is seen first. The containers can be anything that you can imagine such as baskets, brass pots, vessels, ritual lamps, glass jars, acrylic holders etc. The plants that can be suspended include marble queen, ivy, purple passion, spider plant, money plant, asparagus, baby’s tears etc.

4. Balcony rail planters: These can be of two types: balcony edge-mounted planters and balcony rail-mounted planters. Metal frames are attached to the balcony rails and plant containers are simply placed inside these frames using a liner. However, these planters should be maintained and taken care of properly as these are directly exposed to the environment. Plants which can be placed in these planters include hibiscus, lemon grass, aloe vera, ferns, herbs, creepers etc.
